On Wednesday 13th June, the 7th annual Club 18 Golf Tournament took place at Dyrham Park Golf Club in aid of Chai Cancer Care. Over 80 players took part in the tournament, making up 20 teams.
The day was hugely successful and raised over £25,000. This will go directly towards funding The Back to Fitness Programme, enabling a qualified personal trainer / physiotherapist to work with clients in Chai’s private rehabilitation gymnasium.
The winning team was David Lipsitz, Gary Plein, Jeff Maze and Martin Ment who won with 83 points.
A great draw was the raffle prize of a new Peugeot Urban 107 amongst other prizes. The items auctioned were a round of golf for 4 people at Wentworth and a round of golf for 2 people at Sunningdale.
Louise Hager, Chai’s Chairman said “The golf day was another welcome opportunity to raise Chai’s profile and much needed funds to ensure we can continue to provide our specialised services.”
Joint chairmen Michael Lubliner and Ronnie Gottlieb added “Apart from the financial objectives of the day which this year was to raise funds for Chai's Back to Fitness Programme, it serves to give to all supporters of the event a greater and indepth understanding of the services Chai uniquely provides to cancer patients and their families in the Jewish Community. It was a rewarding day in so many ways.”
