Back by popular demand for its fifth year, the highly anticipated Rosh Hashanah Gift Sale delivered the “Wow” factor as more than 900 shoppers filled Chai’s flagship centre in Hendon, indulging in some pre-Rosh Hashanah retail therapy.

With over 30 stalls tempting buyers with an eclectic mix of homeware, jewellery, fresh and silk flowers, chic millinery and so much more, the event, meticulously planned and expertly run by the Chai Society Committee, raised over £46,500 for Chai’s specialised cancer support services.

Throughout the day shoppers were able to relax and refuel with tasty homemade snacks and refreshments at our very own ‘Chaibucks Café’ and ‘Chaibucks Express’. There was also the opportunity to buy jewellery, lovingly made by the members of the Chai Jewellery Workshop.

On behalf of the Chai Society Committee, Co-Chair Debra Zender said: “With so many people still away and with many schools not open yet, we really didn’t know what to expect. However, once again we’ve been completely overwhelmed by the incredible support of the community. We raised a stunning £46,500 which will go a long way!

My Co-Chair, Julia Abrams and I would like to thank Roundtree Real Estates for sponsoring the event, Michael Stein who donated hundreds of M&W designer homeware items for us to sell, Tony Page who gifted 500 delicious honey cakes and all the stall holders who gave a percentage of their takings on the day. Whose generosity made this event possible and for that we are so grateful.

The atmosphere was so wonderful throughout the day and we will never forget it!”
