Lauren Goldstone and Natalie Verrey raise over £11,000

Close friends, Lauren Goldstone and Natalie Verrey organised and hosted a Fundraising Musical Extravaganza on Sunday 18th March at Earl Haig Hall in aid of Chai Cancer Care and The Hospice of St Francis. Over the last few months, the girls have raised over £11,000 which will be split between the two charities.

The evening included live music with rock ‘n’ roll band, ‘The Brickets’ headlining, dancing and a raffle in honour of two very special people that Lauren and Natalie lost to cancer last year. Lauren’s husband, George Goldstone (32) and Marilyn Verrey (62), wife and mother of Allan and Natalie Verrey.

Following the event Lauren and Natalie, said: “These charities are so very close to our hearts, Chai helping us, our families and many other Jewish people and families facing cancer, The Hospice of St Francis who provide the most incredible palliative care in the final weeks and days of people with terminal cancer.

This week Lauren and Natalie will trek to Machu Picchu. Before they embark on their challenge, Lauren said: “It has been 6 months since my wonderful George passed away, the bravest, most courageous and incredible man. His positivity and determination throughout his illness was inspiring and I want to raise as much money as I can in his memory. He did so much good for other people and touched my heart and my life in infinite ways. I will forever carry him with me and keep on doing things for him that I know he would be proud of. The support we received from Chai was incredible and I know how much George appreciated it all.”
