Chai Cancer Care was one of the 39 charities that took part in the Maccabi Community Fun Run on Sunday 20th May. After a long week of rain the clouds managed to hold until after the races had finished, which proved to be good conditions to run in.
The event was a huge success again this year as over 1200 runners took part to support and raise money for their chosen charities. Everyone was in high spirits and really understood the idea behind the day.
Chai was extremely lucky to have 88 runners that participated and amazing supporters that came to watch their loved ones take part in the races. It was clear to see why the Community Fun Run is such a highly regarded family day as Chai’s runners were made up of all ages from 4 to 64! These ages reflect Chai’s clients and emphasize how a cancer diagnosis impacts not just the patient but the whole family and all generations.
Chai would like to thank everyone that took part, all the supporters that came on the day and all the donors that gave money for the event. Chai has raised over £13,000 and the figure is still rising.
