Great Day for Great Cause! What? Well-Being Spa Lunch in aid of Chai Cancer Care Where? Private home in Who? Karen Goodkind, Ruth Bray, Karen Lever, Katy Ostro When? Thursday 8th May 2008 Raised? Over £30k for therapeutic services Weather? Fabulous Guests? 80+ relaxed and de-stressed women Karen Goodkind and friends Ruth Bray, Karen Lever and Katy Ostro decided to raise not only funds for Chai Cancer Care, but also awareness by holding a Well-Being Spa Lunch, mirroring some of Chai’s many services and activities. In the beautiful setting of a private home and garden in Hampstead Garden Suburb, some 80 women relaxed and enjoyed massage therapy, reflexology, head massage, an art workshop, gym and Pilates classes. Added to these were the extra treats of manicures and pedicures, a juice bar serving non-alcoholic cocktails and a delicious and healthy lunch. Sharon Osbourne lookalike Caroline Bernstein was on hand to chat to guests. Ian Marber, “the Food Doctor”, hosted an informative and lively question and answer session. A moving appeal from Karen Goodkind encouraged guests to sponsor therapeutic treatments for cancer patients at Chai. Over £30k was raised.
