A group of 12 adventurous ‘Chai Challengers’ have just returned from Snowdonia National Park, having summited the mighty Snowdon. In just one day they managed to conquer some of the UK’s most rugged landscape, tackling all terrains as they cycled, trekked and kayaked the gruelling 36km route.

The ‘Snowdon Triple Challenge’ is the third bespoke challenge from Chai’s nationwide initiative, ‘Chai Challenges You’ which launched in 2015 by veteran trekker and Chai Ambassador, Alexandra Maurice following the huge success of the Kilimanjaro Trek in 2013.

Alexandra Maurice, said: This was my fourth ‘Chai Challenges You’ trek and I certainly didn’t expect the hail storm whilst descending the mountain! This time we challenged our participants in different ways - biking, hiking and kayaking. It was a long day with many highs and lows - not unlike the Cancer journey that so many of Chai’s client’s experience. Many of the group have seen first-hand the incredible support Chai provides and it is always an honour raising money for them, knowing the direct impact it has.”

Chai’s Chairman, Louise Hager, said: “What this group has achieved is so wonderful! The £40,000 raised will go towards supporting our ‘Chai in Schools’ programme. We salute Alexandra Maurice for her incredible dedication to Chai and for driving ‘Chai Challenges YOU’ and the Snowdon Triple Challenge forward. Chai needs the community's generosity to help raise the £3.2 million it will cost to provide its services each year.”

Whether your personal challenge is to skydive, ride a bike or even climb a mountain, ‘Chai Challenges YOU’ to go the extra mile to make a difference!
