On Wednesday 3rd of July, Leo Gluckman and Daniel Tyler, together with a group of their friends, walked from school to Haderech at New North London Synagogue for their Bar Mitzvah challenge in aid of Chai. They have so far raised more than £1,700, far exceeding their initial target of £1,500.

The boys chose to raise funds for Chai for their Bar Mitzvah’s because they have both lost someone close to them recently. Leo walked in memory of his Nana, Priscilla and Daniel walked in memory of his aunt, Laurel.

They embarked on their 6 mile walk at the end of school, leaving JFS and JCOSS and arriving at their Haderech Bar Mitzvah class for a huge welcome.

Following the walk Leo and Daniel said: “It was very fun having our friends by our side! We ran the last stretch at the end. Chai Cancer Care is such a great cause.”

On behalf of everyone at Chai we would like to say a huge thank you to Leo, Daniel and their friends for their incredible fundraising efforts!
